About – Springfield Basketball Club
Springfield Basketball Club is a competitive travel basketball program for boys and girls entering grades 3rd-8th. Teams start practice early November and play games December through March, which includes a league schedule (including playoffs) as well as pre-season and possibly post-season tournaments. Opponents generally reside in Montgomery, Bucks, and Philadelphia counties, most within a 45-minute radius.
Locations
Home games and practices will be at Springfield Township Middle School, or Erdenheim Elementary School. Away games are played at different locations generally within a 45-minute drive.
Try-Outs
This is a competitive, try-out based program. All players must be registered to try-out for the league. There is a $25 non-refundable tryout fee for each player trying out. If your son/daughter makes a team, you will be sent an invoice for the $225.00 registration fee.
Requirements
- All players must register and complete waivers in order to be considered for a team.
- Players are not guaranteed automatic succession to the next grade level for the next season. Players must try out for their respective teams each year.
- Players will be selected by independent evaluators at the conclusion of tryouts.
Commitment
Teams typically practice twice a week (2-2.5 hours total practice time) and play a 12-game schedule with one to two games per week. The league schedule goes from mid-December to mid-February followed by ICBA playoffs in late February / early March. Teams may participate in additional tournaments based on discretion of parents and coaches. Please consider this commitment before trying out for a team.

As in years past, we will offer teams at all grades from 3rd through 8th grade. We will field a minimum of one team per age group. The viability of a second team will be made on a case by case basis for each age group based on gym availability, skill level of players, and volunteer coaches.
Required Documents
- Once assigned to a team all entering 3rd graders and any player new to the ICBA must hand in a copy of their birth certificate to have on file with Springfield Basketball Club.
- ALL players must hand in the ICBA Medical Release form PRIOR to tryouts. This can be handed to club staff the day of tryouts. You can download this form here.
